Research Assistant, Dean’s Office, School of Business

Internal Search: Open to currently enrolled George Mason University graduate students only.

The School of Business is seeking a currently enrolled George Mason University graduate student for a ten hour per week student wage Research Assistant position to assist the Dean and his co-author. Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct research, identifying and summarizing recent, high-quality scholarly and practitioner articles relevant to CEO learning;
  • Content analyze interview data from about 25 interviews, ideally using nVivo™ or Nudist™ software; and
  • Assist in identifying and arranging additional interviews with CEOs across diverse industries.

General Requirements:

  • Strong research and qualitative data analysis skills;
  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft applications;
  • Disciplined to complete all assignments by deadlines given with accurate details; and
  • Reliable to work all hours as scheduled;

Eligibility requirements:

  • Admitted to graduate study at Mason and remain in good academic standing with at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) and no recent unsatisfactory grades;
  • Achieved a score of at least 100 on the Internet-based TOEFL exam, if native language is not English (copy of test results required if hired); and
  • Achieved a score of at least 40 on the CELTD Assessment, if native language is not English. Information about the CELTD Assessment test at the Mason English Language Institute can be found online at: http://eli.gmu.edu/.
