Global Gateway Administrator

The Global Education Office at George Mason University is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to administer the Global Education Office’s Global Gateway program. The Global Gateway Program is a first-year cohort program where students spend their second semester at Mason abroad at one of our Global Gateway partner institutions. The Administrator will be responsible for administering 10 sites and approximately 250 students.

The Administrator will be responsible for liaising with Admissions, Office of Orientation and Family Programs and Services, and Office of Financial Aid regarding the selection, acceptance processing, registration, and communication to first year participants. Responsibilities will also include coordinating the approval of on course offerings and curriculum development with Mason academic advisors, departments and with the Global Education Office Registration Specialist. The Gateway Administrator will organized the required first semester course, UNIV 108, hire faculty and schedule sessions, coordinate on-site staff and travel schedules and serve as the primary contact with partner institutions, ensuring all parties are meeting contract requirements, and secure housing for students. The successful candidate must be able to trouble shoot and be comfortable resolving student issues.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have the ability to keep track of multiple time sensitive tasks, pay great attention to detail, work with people of different cultures, have strong computer skills (word processing and spreadsheet management) as well has strong administrative background.

The successful candidate will have a BA in International Studies, Education, or Foreign Language, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience and demonstrated administrative experience, a background in study abroad, higher education administration, experiential education or field studies.
