Researcher Associate

The Center for Advancing Correction Excellence, within the Department of Criminology, Law and Society at George Mason University, seeks a researcher to collaborate on research at the interface between health and criminology. In several studies, this study will support the work on different studies that seeks to further understand interventions to interrupting offending, substance abuse and risky behaviors and the relationship between programs and outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on the study protocol;
  • Create and maintaining databases using a variety of tools;
  • Conduct sophisticated statistical analyses using multivariate and multilevel models;
  • Collaborate with lab members on empirical analyses and articles;
  • Assist in the design of new studies;
  • Work on scholarly papers.
  • Assist in the supervision of graduate research assistants and field staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. preferred or Master’s degree is Social Sciences or Criminology;
  • At least seven years of experience;
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference is for candidates with experience with SPSS, STATA, MPLUS, SAS, as well as experience with latent growth curve models, hierarchical linear models, and advanced quantitative analyses;
  • Experience with statistical analyses and the study of change over time is highly desired;
  • Experience working with offender populations is also a plus.
