Open-Rank Tenure-Line Faculty, Operations Management

The George Mason University School of Business is seeking to fill an Open Rank Tenure-Line Faculty in Operations Management, beginning Fall 2018. Operations Management is part of the Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) Area in the School of Business. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and is renowned for its rich academic and culturally inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will vary with rank, but for all ranks will include publications in top-tier business journals; teaching courses in undergraduate and graduate programs; and service to the area, school, university, and profession. Salary will be commensurate with rank, experience, and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned Ph.D. (or close to completion) in Operations Management or a closely related field prior to the start date;
  • Record of scholarly and professional accomplishments consistent with an appointment for the appropriate rank, including evidence of potential for publishing significant research in top-tier journals; and
  • Evidence of potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates with research interests that align with current Operations Management faculty will be viewed favorably.

ISOM Area:

The ISOM area consists of 12 OM and IS tenure-track faculty members, and nine-term faculty members. They have published their research in top-tier business journals, and have won several college- and university-level teaching awards. They also serve in editorial roles across leading academic journals in their fields.
