Open-Rank Tenure-Line Faculty, Information Systems

The George Mason University Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) area of the School of Business invites applications for an open-rank tenure-line position in Management of Information Systems (MIS) beginning Fall 2018. Major responsibilities include conducting high quality research; teaching Management of Information Systems (MIS) courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs; and service to the area, school and university.

Required Qualifications:

Successful applicants will have a Ph.D. in MIS or a closely related discipline. Doctoral candidates must provide clear evidence of expected completion of their degree prior to the start date. Junior-level candidates will demonstrate strong potential for excellence in research and teaching in the MIS area. Senior-level candidates will have a proven record of research, and evidence of teaching MIS courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. Senior-level candidates may be considered for a tenured appointment at Associate or Full-level, subject to school and university approval.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests align with those of the current IS faculty.

ISOM Area:

The ISOM area consists of seven MIS and five OM tenure-track faculty members, and nine term faculty members. They have published their research in top-tier business journals, and have won several college- and university-level teaching awards. They also serve as members of editorial review boards of leading journals in their fields.
