Part-Time Financial Services Specialist

The George Mason University Division of Advanced Professional Teacher Development and International Education, within the College of Education and Human Development, seeks a versatile Part-Time Financial Services Specialist. Responsibilities:

This position is an hourly wage position for up to 29 hours per week. The position is non-benefitted, but it does offer a flexible work schedule and an hourly rate comparable to full-time employees with similar duties. Responsibilities focus on:

  • Core business operations, including generating adjunct contracts each semester;
  • Adjunct and staff EPAF submissions (Banner EPAFs, HireXpress);
  • Processing travel authorizations and reimbursements for the Division;
  • Implementing eVA and P-card purchases;
  • Revenue management and invoicing transactions; and
  • Monthly reconciliation reporting for the Division.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in accounting or business), or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Well-developed budget management and reconciliation skills;
  • Strong oral and written communication capabilities; and
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environment; and
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple, time-sensitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy, while also being able to proactively identify and resolve problems that arise in complex or unusual transactions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MicroStrategy reporting Systems, TouchNet payment systems, and Ellucian Banner Oracle systems;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word; and
  • Experience in higher education settings.
