Project Coordinator

George Mason University Executive and Professional Education is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to fill the role of a Project Coordinator on the Contracts Team. Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Project Manager, this position is primarily responsible for supporting contract non-credit programs offered through Executive and Professional Education, and special projects as needed—that may include special open enrollment projects, contract non-credit programs developed by Executive and Professional Education, or in conjunction with academic and/or other university units—some with special circumstances or processes required.

Responsibilities include all functions in support of the Project Manager related to the successful delivery of contract-based programs including coordination with clients, instructors, and participants. Functions include but are not limited to the processing of participant registrations, payments, and certificates in ACEware; instructor agreements; printing, purchasing, and preparing program materials; processing payments and reimbursements (credit cards, journal vouchers, checks, direct deposits); and invoicing clients. This position requires some occasional travel to represent Mason at the opening of programs delivered to Washington, D.C., metropolitan area clients.

Required Qualifications:

  • Exemplary communication and customer service skills;
  • Ability to multitask;
  • Advanced use of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office suite and registration software;
  • Student service knowledge and skills;
  • Ability to expertly organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently, but also thrive in a team environment; and
  • Comfortable speaking in front of a classroom audience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Experience in higher education with a strong knowledge of course lifecycle and fiscal processes; and
  • Advanced computer skills with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Office suite and ACEware Student Manager.
