Director of Finance, Antonin Scalia Law School

The George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual for a Director of Finance position. Responsibilities:

The Director of Finance reports to the Senior Associate Dean and is the Chief Financial Officer for the Law School. Duties include:

  • Direct and manage all budgetary related tasks;
  • Provide strategic oversight of the school’s financial operations; and
  • Manage workflow, and develop processes and procedures for all fiscal activity for the Law School departments and centers, ensuring that all such activity is processed in a timely and compliant manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree—such as M.B.A. or master’s degree in finance, accounting or related field—is required;
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets throughout the fiscal year to ensure accounts are balanced for year-end closing and reporting; and
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education;
  • Experience with Intuit Quick Books, Ellucian Banner, Abila Sage MIP, MicroStrategy, or other similar databases; and
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia or other state university system procedures, policies, rules, and regulations.
