Fiscal Training Manager

The George Mason University Fiscal Services Office seeks a Fiscal Training Manager. Responsibilities:

  • Supports the fiscal training function, which includes delivery of the comprehensive university-wide training program directed toward fiscal policies and procedures, producing related documents and assisting in the design of new training classes, and redesign of existing offerings as needed;
  • Supports Fiscal Services Web Administration and listserv responsibilities; and
  • Provides individual assistance with fiscal processes to members of the university community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Writing experience in a fiscal or business environment;
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communications skills, creativity, and flexibility;
  • Ability to lead a group training session;
  • Understanding of general fiscal operations and controls;
  • Ability to understand the effects of fiscal policies and procedures on end-user operations and personnel;
  • Comfortable with video conferencing, knowledge of word processing and presentation software, and familiarity with listserv management;
  • Ability to successfully communicate fiscal procedures to individuals with a variety of financial understanding and technical abilities; and
  • Capacity to work independently under general direction of supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Analytical and technical experience;
  • Experience in fiscal operations at a public college or university or similar fiscal environment;
  • Teaching or similar experience in a training environment; and
  • Use of Ellucian Banner Finance and eVA (Commonwealth of Virginia procurement system).
