Director of Admissions Technology

The Office of Admissions invites current George Mason University employee applicants only with exceptional management skills for an internal search for the position of Director of Admissions Technology. Responsibilities:

The Director is a key member of the Admissions senior management team and reports to the Dean of Admissions. Supervising a team of technical staff members, the incumbent:

  • Is responsible for strategic planning, information security, and some budgeting;
  • Is a hands-on manager who coordinates technical resources to support recruitment, enrollment, and data analysis processes; and conducts a significant share of technical duties; and
  • Supervises and leads Admissions-related use of the Ellucian Banner Student Information System, including document imaging (BDM); Hobsons Radius; and Target X, a Salesforce-based customer relationship management (CRM) platform.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline, or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree;
  • Project management experience;
  • Demonstrated experience with product implementations;
  • Progressively responsible experience (minimum of 5 years) in a technical field;
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills;
  • Prior experience with Banner;
  • Experience with system migration;
  • Knowledge of and experience with document imaging systems;
  • Familiarity with admissions processes;
  • Expertise in data analysis;
  • Familiarity with CRM systems; and
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and documenting processes and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Web development;
  • Master’s degree in related discipline;
  • Microsoft Certified Professional; and
  • Certified Project Management Professional.
